"It makes no sense to expel talented young people who for all intents and purposes are Americans, have been raised as Americans, understand themselves to be part of this country, to expel the people who want to staff our labs or start new businesses or defend our country simply because of the actions of their parents, or because of the inaction of politicians."
President Barack Obama announcing the administration will allow undocumented youth to remain in the U.S.
Under the program, young illegals will not be deported if they were brought to the United States before age 16 and have remained for at least five years without leaving. They must also be under the age of 30, with no criminal history. And they must have a U.S. high school diploma, or its equivalent, or have served in the U.S. military.
